Thanks to all who made this such a fun weekend. I enjoyed every minute, and learned a lot.

Every month or two there seems to be a few more sprint maps in Vancouver. I love the (new?) Downtown Vancouver map. Looks pretty technical with all the crossable and uncrossable walls. Vancouver has very quickly become the sprint orienteering capital of North America. Given that it is sprint where North American orienteers have had their greatest success in getting into A finals at WOC, move to and train in Vancouver if you want to be a sprint specialist! I'd love to see GVOC partner with a marketing company to host a high profile sprint race in Vancouver to attract some more fast runners to sprint orienteering.

Great job GVOC! I'll be there at the camp when Adventure Girl! is a little older...

Delightful! A job well done again. The city sprints were exhilarating; loved the mass start romp through Lost Lagoon; great butterfly loops through the forest at Princess Park. Great variety. The ultra-sprint in the last session was quite inspiring and I aim to make some local maps for these kinds of activities.

Heard in conversation on the weekend:

"So, Vancouver is like the Hamilton of the West Coast?"

Ummmm, yeah, I guess so... (though about 600,000 Vancouverites might beg to differ). Definitely a sprint orienteering stronghold anyway, wealthy in both maps and runners at the moment. And not just semi-passable quasi-ISSOM maps like we often see elsewhere, but real, honest-to-goodness ISSOM standard maps - lots of 'em.

How about "Vancouver, the Halden of British Columbia"?

Why not be proud to be yourselves? The real champions become the best not because they copy others but because they develop their own trade marks... such as both Vancouver and Hamilton (and Halden) have done.
