Sounds like a sweet trip. Here's some advice - stay away from plastic and climb on rock as often as possible. You're much more likely to get injured on plastic and climbing on rock improves your technique so much faster! Strubens is in Joburg so you have no excuse not get on rock mid-week ;-) Then get out to Bronkies/Chosspile/Radioactive/Boven/Harrismith every weekend - you should easily be climbing 20 by the time you go on your trip if you stick to that...

That is the plan, Niel Margetts suggests using a pyramid scheme to achieve your goal, climbing allot of routes -1 bellow your current grade, then a few routes on your current grade, and then working hard routes, this prevents injury while improving your climbing. I am doing his climbing course and climbing 2 times during the week (plastic) for 9 weeks in his class, swimming in between for cross training, and planning to get out on rock every weekend working the pyramid. I have a lot of work to do, but it is gonna be awesome.

Yes we went there a few weekends ago - it's open and you'll probably have the place to yourself. Great climbing 12-21, with all routes being quite solid in their grade so don't be put off if it feels difficult. Oh and watch out for the wasps :-)
