Does anybody know if there are O' maps of Big Bend National Park? And if so how I could get them? If not, are there good topo maps? I guess I could probably find those on line. Or from my geol professor. I'm going to Big Bend to look at rocks and structures and stuff over my spring break w/ my geology class and its two weeks before Intercollegiates so I figured in my down time I should try to do a bit of training.
THANKS!

There are no O maps. However, there is a very good National Geographic Trails Map that covers the whole park. As far as I know, for a more detailed map of the Chisos Mtns you need a USGS map.

There can be mountain lions in the area so some people will advise to be careful running in twilight conditions. There have been incidences in the past. I've done some running in the lower desert areas on the trails. I'm not sure running off trail would be much fun, you'd be dodging pokey things all of the time.

oh jeez. thanks for the info. I think I'll stick to trails. I doubt being eaten by mountain lions or getting stuck in loads of pokey things would be highly conducive to training anyway.

and I'll look into the trail map.
