For whatever influence it might have on planners of future A events, particularly championships, I'd like to go on the record as saying I think the shirts sold at the North American Championships are great. Not so much in themselves as shirts since the price leads me to believe they don't represent quite the cutting edge of exercise apparel but because:
1 - they are nevertheless nice enough as exercise apparel that I will wear them while out on training runs, and
2 - they have a bold (and, I think, attractive) design on the back of the shirt (where people I pass or who pass me while I run may actually have time to see and read it) including not only the word "Orienteering" but also the information that orienteering is a sport that holds a championship event for the continent (as opposed to just something a bunch of eccentrics do in the woods).
QOC produced a cotton tee this season that has our website URL and hotline number on the back of it. Despite not being enamoured of the design, I wear it as often as possible on my cycling commute for whatever small raising of orienteering's profile may be achieved. But I'm not about to run in summer in DC wearing cotton if I have a choice. So, thanks be unto NEOOC who I think should be an example to others for selling me something better and I hope they didn't take on bath on having shirts for sale that didn't have to be pre-ordered (much appreciated given that the design wasn't published in advance - always somethign that makes me wary).
For those of us who didn't go to NAOC (for whatever reason), is there someplace where we can see one of these shirts? Can someone take a picture of one and post it on a website?
