In recent years, someone in my neighborhood has started something called "Ghosting". It involves a household making some kind of goodies (usually cookie or brownies of some sort) and "Ghosting a different house. The Ghosters bring their plate of goodies and leave it at someones door step along with the "Ghosted" symbol (a ghost on a sheet of paper which is placed in the window so the same household isn't ghosted twice) and a brief description of the "Ghosting" system. The Ghosters ring the doorbell and run, but stay hidden and watch to make sure that their goodies are taken. The family or household being ghosted then copies their ghost paper and places one in the window while putting the other ghost paper and ghosting description with the goodies they come up with. Try to keep your identity a secret, don't tell ANYONE who you're ghosting, it adds to the fun.
Its just the process of giving and recieving. Since halloween is just around the corner, consider making two platters and leaving them at two different doorsteps. Help spread the joy for this years halloween! Its great fun and quite yummy!

just dont do it to the Coogee Bay Hotel though. The goods they will give in return arent quite as yummy.

I can get one, but not until later.
It's really easy to make if you want to make your own.
Find a clip art image (or other photo) of a ghost
write something along the lines of
YOU'VE BEEN GHOSTED!
Photocopy this sheet twice and post one in your window. Then make two more plates of goodies and Ghost two more households giving them the ghosting paper.
Enjoy your goodies!
The whole idea of spreading this just came to me on monday when we got ghosted. We have spread it to other communites around us. If you're going to try, goodluck. You may only get to one house before halloween! :P
