cedarcreek: Someone sent me a link to these:

The first one is short, and the second one has a penalty loop. The music is...interesting.

BorisGr: Is that SandyHJ running the penalty loops in the second one? Looks a lot like her...

I like the music, especially the Bulgarian hip-hop that comes on at about 2:50 of the second video.
:)

szurcher: yeah that's totally her! Go Sandy!!

mata: I do not know if there has been a link to this video here at attackpoint previously? It is a great one though!

Jerritt: "Follow me" is great. I am afraid that is what my route gadget entries would look like.

Kat: Fun stuff! I often wish there could be music playing in the woods while I'm orienteering. Perhaps some speakers could be installed in a few trees for the big events?

cedarcreek: I watched the second link again, and---I'm not 100% sure about this, but---I think there is footage of a micro-O starting at 1:55 or so. I was watching, and it reminded me of a map I'd seen a few months ago, when I was researching micro-O rules. (And just for the record, I still hate micro-O.)

Again, I'm not sure, but the terrain seems right, and the controls seem to be in the right places. There might even be a distinctive tree in the background and a powerline pole in the foreground (that blurs by). A good view of the field is right at the beginning during SHJs penalty loop. (And to be clear here, you have no idea how much I hate penalty loops, so watching that is just painful.)

Spike: Here is a video from the Maze at Anza-Borrego. My editing needs work, but it'll give you a sense of what some of the terrain was like:

Tapio: Interestingly the Maze video has some O-broadcast in Finnish towards the end. Where did that come from?

Jagge: The phrases can not be just random selected. It must have been selected by a thirsty person who understand what the speaker is saying.

Barbie: Well, let's just say that the video of the micro-o (Cedarcreek) is a clear demonstration that micro-o is extremely spectator friendly and great for TV. I was riveted to my seat, hoping that Sandy was gonna beat the clock. I still have sweaty palms from watching it (maybe it was the musci though).

Spike: Tapio and Jagge, the music is from SDD -- a bunch of orienteers. The song was IFK Lidingo's Jukola-song from a couple of years ago.
