Frontier:
The early registration contest for the Frontier Adventure Challenge Sept 6 at Searchmont Resort was such a success that Searchmont Resort and the Great Northern Hotel and Conference Centre have generously offered a second fantastic getaway package including two nights accommodation and two days of skiing for two people, to be won by another lucky racer who signs up by midnight August 15th.

Teams are signing up for the Frontier Adventure Challenge from the Algoma Region and as far away as Toronto and even Las Vegas. Wayne Leek of Team Lather. Rinse. Compete. in Toronto got his registration in right under the midnight deadline for the July contest, and lucky thing Wayne won the first weekend ski package for two at Searchmont and the Great Northern Hotel.

The Frontier Adventure Challenge features teams and solo racers biking, hiking, paddling, and navigating through an unmarked wilderness racecourse that spans over 40km. Teams of three can be all-male, all-female, or coed, or racers can go solo. Registration and details are at www.fastadventures.com.

In partnership with Searchmont Resort and Tourism Sault Ste Marie, this eight hour race will feature the best trails and scenery around the incredible Searchmont area. Teams will discover more than just the great adventure potential of the area; they will discover the value of teamwork, and they'll push past their perceived limits. And if they're lucky, one racer will return to enjoy some winter sports in the area.
Teams should get their registration in by midnight August 15 to be entered to win this fantastic Ski & Stay Package for 2!

Frontier Adventure Sports, the event organizers, say the event is for everyone. We want racers of all ages to make this a memorable weekend event, says Geoff Langford, the race director. We're offering special pricing for racers under 21 to encourage young competitors. With the right level of participation, we can make this an annual event.

The course offers both an Advanced and Regular option, making this a race for everyone, Langford also said. Its perfect cross-training for anyone into biking, trail running, or paddling, and a great change of pace for triathletes. At the same time, its a fun challenge for the weekend warrior.
For anyone curious about the sport, volunteers are needed for everything including the medical team, checkpoint staff, registration, and setup, and organizers say its a great way to get a real perspective on the fun.
