Can anyone recommend a scanner? Or an all-in-one? (My printer is a Lexmark Z52, which is OK, but if I can get a better printer with a scanner for a not obscene amount more money, I'd do that).

Dean, I have a USB scanner you can have if you like. We picked up an all-in-one printer a few months back so my wife could make quick copies without turning on the computer - so now that I have scanning capabilities there, the other one isn't being used and I'd just as soon someone else make use of it.

Scanners are cheap these days, but why not save one from the landfill instead? Let me know if interested.

If you wind up buying one, strongly suggest getting a flat bed rather than an all-in-one. That way you can scan over-sized sheets, as in sections of a USGS. Becomes quite handy at times.

I agree with George. I use mine a lot and the only thing I would want different is a bigger scanning bed (mine can do legal size now). But the flat bed is sure handy for scanning maps of various sizes and condition.
