Team Selection for the 2009 Ski-WOC

The Ski-O ESC is selecting the team for the 2009 Ski-WOC in Rusutsu, Hokkaido, Japan, 3-8 March 2009. Event website is at http://www.orienteering.or.jp/swoc2009/

Selection will be based on petitions supported by a portfolio to be submitted by each applicant. Selection will be based on the following criteria:
- Head to head competition results with other applicants
- Performance at World Cups, Empire State Games, Sierra Challenge and other international/national level events
- Performance in Ski races and/or foot orienteering events
- Evaluation of training log

Portfolio can be very simple - Race name/distance, placing, time, # of competitors, winning time and a web link to results if we want more info than that.

All interested Ski-Orienteers need to submit their petitions and portfolio to the Ski-O ESC Chair, Jim Arsenault, jearsenaul (at) aol (dot) com by 5/1/2008. Decision will be made by the ESC by 6/1/2008. The primary time period considered will be from 12/1/07-5/1/08, although major event results from previous years will also be taken into consideration.
