MikeS:
I just made it up that way. I suppose because in theory you should know more orienteers than other athletes and so it is more likely you will see another orienteer when out running.

are orienteers not athletes?

MikeS:
Well yes, but I was thinking more of non-orienteer athletes.

what do you get if you see James Hargreaves and James Furness walking together?

MikeS:
As long as you're running, you would get 100 points (10*10).

no what I just said is different to seeing JaH and JF on the same run -its seeing them together on a run -this is an even more unlikely scenario and thus it must be worth some additional points...

during my second training session yesterday, I saw 2 ex-footballers. they qualify for points by the following criteria:

1. they are athletes
2. they are not based in sheffield
3. they are famous(ish). admittedly, they only played for leeds and everton so I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
4. they weren't running.
5. they were together at the same time.

my rough calculations show that this gains me approximately 1 million points (I've done the math) and thus my gold certificate from craney. ship it.
