This is a great chance to get your legs warmed up for the Highlander, and experience the unique "window" format.

THE SIXTH ANNUAL SUSQUEHANNA STUMBLE
Kings Gap Environmental Education Center
September 27, 2003
The Susquehanna Stumble is a Billygoat-inspired event with
a couple of twists. The competitors run between numbered
windows in sequential order, but within each window there
are several controls which can be visited in ANY order.
WHERE: Kings Gap/Hammonds Rocks on the Michaux State
Forest near Carlisle, PA
WHEN: Mass start at 12:00, Saturday, September 27, 2003.
WHAT: The Long-Stumble event will be ~15 km in length,
with commemorative towel for the first 20 finishers and
the first 5 female finishers.
The Short-Stumble will be ~8 km with commemorative towels
for the first 10 finishers and first 3 female finishers.
Normal white, yellow, and orange recreational courses will
also be available with starts any time between 11 and 2.
COST: $ 15 for the Long-Stumble, $ 8 for the
Short-Stumble, $ 3 for recreational courses. The prices
are for those who register by September 24 (send name,
course, phone to: Brad Whitmore, 20801 S. Ruhl Rd,
Freeland, MD 21053). Late, or morning-of-event
registration is also ok, but prices are $ 20, $ 12, and $
3, and you may have to draw your own course if we run out.
YOU CAN ALSO REGISTER BY E-MAIL AND PAY THE REDUCED RATE ON THE DAY OF THE RACE. Just send Brad Whitmore (whitmore@stsci.edu) a note and tell me whether you are doing long or short.
DIRECTIONS: Take Rt. 233 east off I-81 (between Carlise
and Shippensburg, PA) several miles until you get to Pine
Rd., then look for O-signs. (Event is being held at the
King's Gap Environmental and Education Center)
SUBS: The Kings Gap General Store right at the entrace to
the park makes excellent subs, and also has drinks,
snacks, popcicles and gigantic wheels of cheese.
