Nev-Monster:
Wasn't sure if this is a better fit on the Orienteering or Adventure Racing side, but the World Mountain Running Champs are taking place this weekend in Thailand, Nov 3-6.

Believe there are 4 races: 80K and 40K trail races, the classic up and down event and the uphill-only mountain race (also called vertical climb).

A few Orienteers including some AP's are racing.
Story about the Canadian team is here.

I remember to see Tove, Frederic Tranchant and Mårton Boström on a earlier list for the short (40 k) trail. I found Judith Wyder, Jonas Soldini, Joey Hadorn, Fabian Aebersold and Pascal Buchs on this list https://my.raceresult.com/225074/
Maybe this list is fur the uphill championship as this will start on Friday. Organisers homepage isn´t really good.

As well as Kris Jones, Sasha Chepelin is also running for GB. And many, many years ago, Jon Albon came on a CUOC training tour, before deciding that OCR was more his thing.

Ionut Zinca for Romania too

Congrats to Haddorn. A few seconds out of the medals. Interesting observation is that for the top 30 men the biggest gaps between runners are first to second and second to third with the two Kenyans in first and second. Is Kenya going to dominate trail running like they dominate all other distance running ?

Kris Jones came 5th and Jon Albon 3rd in the so called "short"- a mere 38k and 2500m climb.

Antonio Martínez was in 9th.

LOC member and occasional orienteer Jess Bailey took gold in the U20 women's race by 78 seconds, despite being only 16 years old.
