Also please note that if you want a room at the meet hotel at the very nice rate that was negotiated, you need to request it by Friday, February 18th. There's a dedicated link under Accommodations on the Information page that's extremely easy to use to reserve your room/s.

From the event website, re Coventry Woods-
"Orienteering has never been done at this site."

This is not completely true.
While it is true that most of this terrain has never been mapped, and none of it used for an A event, the southwestern third of this area was in fact mapped by multi WOC mapper Janos Soter, and known as the Hill School Camp. This was used a few times in the 1990's, while under the previous Hiil School ownership, where former US Team member Jim Pugh was business manager.
We believe the new map will continue this fine pedigree.

If anybody cares we might be able to post a copy of this map, if enough people prod the right DVOA people.
I am not one of those people, although I have a few pre-digital copies to start the process.

Mostly I'm just trying to generate meet interest, and follow Janet by re-bumping this thread.

That would be the meet director's call, I think. (He also provided the text for the description Eric mentioned.)

Prices go up after midnight (Eastern time) Sunday night; regular registration continues through the end of the month.

Oops, you are right and I am getting ahead of myself. Updated the previous post to add "Sunday."

While bumping up this meet thread is the main objective, prospective attendees might be interested to learn about the colorful and bawdy history related to Sunday's Coventry Woods meet site.

If the township officials see fit to publicize this history on their own website and with a display at the O meet parking/arena area, I suppose this is also an acceptable topic for AP, this, in addition to having the meet director's permission.

It is possible to simply google the terms "Free Love Valley" or "Battle Axes Coventry PA" to do your own research.

One of the Coventry Woods trails is officially called the "Love Valley Trail". This website includes a contour map snippet of the competition terrain (not the O map).

Another reminder that Sunday night, Feb. 27th, is the regular deadline for Big Woods. If you think you'll be coming sign up tonight or tomorrow!

Registration will close for Big Woods tomorrow (Saturday), March 12th at midnight Eastern time. If you've waited until the last minute...this is it. Late fees apply.

At some point a whole bunch of guys had claimed they were going to sign up for M35 for this event. I wonder what happened to that. Boo.
