Discussion: Skiing

Great that you are getting so much opportunity to ski this winter.
We can't seem to keep any snow on the ground over the past few winters.

I don't really ski, but I figured you could use a comment over here on this thread.

How long has Inara been skiing? Does she downhill, too?

She has been skiing since she was 1. This is the first winter where she is doing anything more than just a few steps on her own. And she has made a ton of progress - I think she's skied about 3.5km yesterday by herself.
She is going downhill today. I'll report back on how it goes. Has Fjola been out skiing yet?

She hasn't.

I'm not much of a skier (I think I've only been once in the past 10 years). Gina's family grew up downhill skiing a lot, so I suppose we'll get her on the slopes sooner than my first time (10 years old).

Maybe it'll happen next month? We're spending a week in central Washington near-ish the Mission Ridge slopes.

Does Missoula have the US equivalent to Canada’s JackRabbits program? I think it is called Nordic Rocks. Jackrabbits is what we used to design Adventure Running Kids

They have Zany, which i think is similar. It's obviously not happening this winter, but if we are still here next winter, we'll sign her up for sure.
