Big Jon:
I saw your comment on another log (can't remember who's)
If you want I can set some sessions for you and "shout" if you don't do them... :-) let me know, happy to help.

I love Hal Higdon programs; every time I'm training for a specific distance (usually the office 5k, really the only road race I do anymore) I use his schedule.

Have you come across a simple app that will tell you things like "do 30 mins of cardio today". I have already paid for a quite good (to my mind) set of yoga, strength, and HIIT apps and they are very flexible about creating your own programs. But they don't tell you when to do stuff or how much to do. The training apps that give you a plan based on goals seem to require you to use their exercise progra, which mostly involves paying for a subscription (which I don't need since I'm quite happy, on the whole, with the exercises I've already paid for).

I was checking out Hal Higdon online, and found that the basic outline of his programs had pdfs available for free: https://www.halhigdon.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/...

Or can be copied: https://www.halhigdon.com/training-programs/base-t...

Not sure if that would help djalkiri?

Which apps do you like for HIIT, etc?

I use both Freeletics (bodyweight strength/cardio) and this Hal Higdon one. Both are paid subscriptions because I like just being told what to do. I don't think I've come across any that do that in the free version either. There was a running based free one called gip.is a while ago, but I think that may have died or been incorporated by something else.

Thanks Suzanne and Becks! I've downloaded the Hal Higdon one and will give it a go. I've been using the Down Dog yoga and HIIT apps. They used to have a 7 minute workout one but that is now folded into a general HIIT app. They are very customizable and not too annoying (though the lack of changes of the sunlight across all the videos in their studio recording is a bit weird)
