How did you learn this? And do you have any idea how they came to be catalogued?
I was doing a google search and noticed the link to LoC in one of the search results. I don't recall what the search terms were, but something about orienteering maps and Kansas.
Dave Linthicum must have had something to do with getting the maps cataloged. There are some other maps in the catalog and most of them are maps Dave was involved in.
The KU map library has a bunch of orienteering maps, too.
And something odd...the KU Spencer Research Library has a collection of the old Orienteer Kansas newsletters from 1978 through the mid/late 1980s.
The old OK newsletters I sent to the Library back when I also sent the bike club newsletters. I never knew if they were ever kept or not.
Well done Gene. It is nice that the history of OK is preserved at the Spencer Library.
Pretty cool on both counts (maps at LoC & newsletters in Spencer).
