Discussion: Flash Sale at Garmin

Check the Garmin sale out. They have products on sale that I didn't even know were products. And my beloved Garmin 235 on sale for less than $200. Perhaps I could use a third one for those really long days.

Thanks for the heads-up! The UK site only has limited discounts (10%) on most models, except the 645 'Music' version is down 40% to £219. That may be worth it for the altimeter, etc, even if the music function isn't of interest (the non music 645 is not discounted at £299)

On the downside, it seems the 645 battery life is only half as good as the 235/245.

Has anyone any experience with solar powered Garmin watches?

Gord, the reviews from DC Rainmaker (one of the most comprehensive review sites) are that the Instinct solar actually can extend the running time while the designs of the Fenix 6 solar models provided very little extra and not really worth the cost (the design/implementation is very different).

Thanks Charlie. I do have two Forerunner 235s (plus a 405 and 610). Having bought my most recent 235 for something close to $400 Cdn I'm somewhat shocked at the comedown in price for this excellent watch. The small print on the Amazon one must be that it is refurbished, right?

Apparently they are deep discounting it because they now have an updated model, the 245.
