What exactly were you watching?

Also, have you seen Queen's Gambit? Apparently it set a record on Netflix with 62 million viewers.

Chess is really hard on the IT band, you might want to take it easy for a bit. What's the idea here.

There are some youtube channels I follow pretty regularly, one is called agadmator, the other is the chessbrahs. I'm only an averagish player myself but I'm a fan of the game. I've wondered if there aren't some pretty good players in the orienteering or AP communities, given the skew toward high education levels and so on.

I did see Queen's Gambit, it was enjoyable. I'm reading the book now. Funny to see a show about chess get such attention in the mainstream, though even before it came out there was a huge boom in online chess during the pandemic. Haven't seen the musical but One Night in Bangkok is of course a classic.

I'm pretty sure Gambit uses cards, not chess pieces.

I have not seen QG, but just read a lengthy review about it, how the reality of sexism during and after that era does not appear.
My guess is that doesn't take away from the story. It sounded interesting.
Have you seen Queen of Katwa? Also about a female chess player, in Uganda.
