Not that you necessarily need another long race in February!--but if you want some more punishment / AT prep 3 weeks after ICY8, there's a pretty good race, the "Febapple" (I guess they originally had a Mayapple) in north central NJ the Saturday after President's Day weekend. 10+ mile loop in South Mountain Reservation (moderately hilly) which you run once, twice, thrice, or five times for races of (very approx) 10mi, 21mi, 50km, 50+mi.

I did the 21mi 10 years ago, as my qualifier for the Escarpment Run. (I've run Escarpment twice, at age 30 and 60, so I guess my next one is at 90. ;-) But that's another story.) I liked it, am thinking of signing up again (maybe even go for 50km, tougher course than Algonquin but much less strict time limit), as an incentive to keep myself running through the winter. It was pretty well organized (in a low-key kind of way) although I did make a significant wrong turn due to difficulty following the flour-and-paint course markings in the snow that year.

Cool, o-maps! Have a great time. Likely a bit close to Icy-8, but I'll keep it in mind.
