for that requisite piece of research. Can't say I'd ever be able to pronounce it but I now can recognise it in written form.

I used to love Australian wildlife's Latin names when I was a kid, and stunned the education department inspectors who came to check on our homeschooling progress, with my knowledge thereof.
My favourite's probably Dacelo gigas, which is onomatopoeic!

My Latin has served me well both with English and French - but I'm loving these rabbit holes you are sending me down. Again Ta!
