Really pretty good, i agree, and somewhat surprising considering mileage. Less is more?
I guess more miles would help. Last fall I ran two 10k races at an average pace of 7:09/mile, and I had been doing pretty good training. I figure if I wanted to improve my 2-mile time at this point I'd do some tempos and intervals. But I have nothing on my race calendar until the National Senior Games next November in Florida.
I might do another 2-mile attempt -- they're collecting results until end of next month.
Time trials can be enjoyable. Is it fairly cool in florida in november? That would be a draw. Previous locations midsummer in southern locales did not appeal.
What events are you doing @NSG?
Just the 10k. I qualified 2 years ago but didn't go to the NSG last year (Albuquerque). Maryland didn't have a qualifying race this year, so I believe I qualify for next year's race according to the special Covid rules. To answer your earlier question, from what I can glean, Ft. Lauderdale will have highs around 80 in November.
Not bad and the ten will probably be held in the early am...one would hope. Best wishes! I'm looking for local sr. games to open up this spring...May is still 6 months away so there's hope.
