I feel like almost all of that terrain is nice with leaves down.

Actually there are areas out here that really are pretty trashy no matter what time of year. From Sandy's GPS track, it looks like she found all the greenbriers that I found. There are thorny areas out here, but it seems like they're almost always immediately around swamps.

But it looks like she got out to the really nice forest yesterday.

Ferns are the other problem out here in summer, especially in areas with rocky ground. It just feels like you're stumbling every other steps. Fortunately it seems like the ferns are starting to die down for the year, at least at the higher elevations.

My bad—I was thinking that was the other side of the river. I’m not familiar with this section, but look forward to seeing at some point.

I did get out on the really nice stuff yesterday and had a blast. I also knew to cross the power line high up and not down in the low spots where the vegetation is currently horrible. Luckily the course made that easy but I would have gone way around if I'd had to!
