Discussion: Traffic sensors

At certain sets of lights in Perth there is a picture of a bike painted on the road though I'm not sure of the purpose. The sensors at those lights are no better or worse than detecting bikes than at others. Seems to be pot luck all over Perth as to which do and which don't.
