So so great! I'm so glad the air has stayed clear today + yesterday, hope it keeps it up! National Weather Service forecast notes make it seem like it probably will, although there's some possibility the westerly wind will subside and allow the smoke to reaccumulate early in the week. I don't think it will get as bad as it was no matter what though!

We were having somewhat mixed emotions at the equivalent stage in January - on the one hand if the winds were easterly the smoke was pushed towards us, on the other hand if the winds were easterly it also made it less likely that the fires themselves would spread significantly (easterly winds are more humid in our part of the world, and explosive fire behaviour normally happens with winds from the northwest quadrant). Westerly winds with rain would be the best of both worlds for you (and looks like some good prospects for rain for you in the second half of this week).
