Hi there!
I have used RGMapvideo for some years now and I like it very much! But now I have run into a problem.
So the other day I was processing a video and during step 3 the space ran out on my hard drive.
Ok, no problem, I thought. Just free space and run it again. But now rgmapvideo allways return an error message at the start:
---------------------------
C:\rgmapvideo>RGmapvideo.exe VIDEOJOIN
GD.pm did not return a true value at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
C:\rgmapvideo>RGmapvideo.exe DESHAKE
GD.pm did not return a true value at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
C:\rgmapvideo>RGmapvideo.exe MAPFRAMES
GD.pm did not return a true value at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
C:\rgmapvideo>RGmapvideo.exe MAKEVIDEO
GD.pm did not return a true value at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at script/tomapvideo_uus.pl line 6.
---------------------------
I have even tried to install rgmapvideo all over again. But can't get past this error.
Has anyone any idea how I can solve this?
I'm from Gothenburg, Sweden, and during this week (due to the cancelled O-ringen) the clubs in Gothenburg arrange GO-ringen! So I'm running everyday this week, filming every ordeal with my GoPro. I would love to get it out on Youtube as soon as possible! :-)
Yours sincerely,
Tomas
Try deleting C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\par-[hash] folder if you have such folder.
Worked like a charm! Thank you, Jagge!! You saved my day and my week!
If anyone wants to se what I do with RGMapvideo, I have some examples here:

I have a similar problem. But I got this error message:
IO.pm did not return a true value at c:/Perl/lib/IO/Handle.pm line 266.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at c:/Perl/lib/IO/Handle.pm line 266.
Compilation failed in require at c:/Perl/lib/IO/Seekable.pm line 101.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at c:/Perl/lib/IO/Seekable.pm line 101.
Compilation failed in require at c:/Perl/lib/IO/File.pm line 133.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at c:/Perl/lib/IO/File.pm line 133.
Compilation failed in require at -e line 352.
I have tried to reinstall rgmapvideo but it didn't help. I'm not using it so often. Two years ago it worked on same OS Windows 10 and same computer. Google says that required perl files must end with 1;. But rgmapvideo.exe comes precompiled so I can't check that.
What can I do?
The solution given above didn't solve the problem.

Is not time to get some funding and develop a more modern app? happy to help in writing the funding proposal?
Take a look at Orientview.
The same solution will solve the second problem too. You can't get those bizarre errores wtihout that par-[hash] folder existing and being corrupted, and deleting it will fix such issues. Possibly path can be different, under differnet username or in a common folder something.
I haven't tried rgmapvideo for years, maybe I should dig it up from the old laptop. I havent been making much videos lately and those rare ones I have made with mapflixer (much simpler and support for higher resolutions) or just watched them combined with map/gpstrack in browser without producing any overlay videos.
Thanks for the answer. I will try to see if it works. I want also to thank WR that was pointing me to Orientview. Actually never heard about that software but it seems to work. Never heard about mapflixer either. I will try that also.
