Great photo.

Whose log did you steal it from? Tyrannosaurus?

I unfortunately have never witnessed a rainbow from above like this, although I did do this very hike May 6, 2017. When I looked back at my gps track, it looks like I reached nearly the exact same spot too! Also thwarted by snow, according to my log entry from that day:

Polallie Ridge ... It was still covered in snow so we lost the trail quickly, and ended up just following the Ridge. We were going to make it a loop and come back along the river, but Andrew got nervous about the minimal exposure on the ridge so we just stopped for lunch at a high point along the ridge (disappointingly close to THE high point) and went back the way we came.

Haha, nice! Which river were you going to loop into, the Waptus I'm guessing? Getting down to the Cooper from there would be scary AF.

I believe the original plan actually was to loop all the way around to the Cooper. If you follow the trail far enough along the ridge, it eventually splits and there’s a trail that switchbacks down to the Cooper. Clearly, I didn’t make it even close to that far, but without the snow, it would be a good loop.
