Discussion: MapRunF

I have only tried MapRun on courses I have planned around Honley, but have had a similar experience to you. One day I ran round a course and apart from having to run in circles a few times it worked well. Then a few hours later I went round the same course with H and Will and the phone behaved quite differently. Sometimes beeping when 30m from control, sometimes we had to go in circles. No consistency. Maybe it was the phone.
We are off to do a EPOC informal tomorrow in Elland (Urban), but I am not bothering with MapRunF, will just email my time in.

Yes I read that and did what it said. At least I think I did.

Was just thinking that is sounds like the app was going to sleep in the background. It might be something specific to the OS or phone model though. As the writer alludes to, Apple/Android make it difficult for apps to run fully in the background because it chews through data/battery.

I'm not very good with phones.

I had a very positive experience with Maprun last year ran hard through the controls (urban) and they beeped instantly, only trouble was it was freezing and I was dressed for it
