Based on his splits, he is Stephan Bullard. Hasn't logged a race since 2012, so it takes some digging with the wayback machine to get to those old local event results.
I think his opinions are far more prevalent than any of us would like to believe.
A poll in Australia recently found that 13% of people think Bill Gates had a role in creating and spreading the virus, and 12% (a group which presumably overlaps substantially with the 13%) think that it is spread via 5G. I imagine such views are at least as prevalent in the US?
Even in Australia? Oh man.
Totally agree Boris. It’s really depressing. Rot certainly not helped by the ‘messaging’ coming from the White House.
There used to be a Kathy Bullard in MNOC. Must be related.
Yeah, I think in orienteering we’re in a bubble of relative sanity when it comes to the craziness that comes out of the WH and MAGAland, so it’s especially jarring when one of our own (ugh, hard to admit that!) espouses such opinions. I see some of that from my cousins and it’s all I can do not to respond—it just is a depressing waste of time. I DO respond when my cousin posts anti-Muslim stuff because that’s pretty close-to-home (my in-laws are Muslim).
I found a Steve Bullard on Facebook to match (in MN) and he has Erin McDowell as a friend. Some of his posts have overly enthusiastic (some call it excessive) ellipses. He even mentions orienteering.
I've stopped commenting on that thread.
I don't like doxing people, but like the case with most of us, it's facile to glean enough about Steve. He's someone with some background with small business and management; opinions he espouses are more prevalent in folks with his psychographics and professional tour of duty than those with complementary life experience.
