If anyone with computer-based and real-world orienteering map building experience wants to spend some time on Zoom teaching others how to do that, I suggest that they dive right in.

As with the longstanding HVOC Winter Series, I can see others wanting to set up similar courses in their communities to help others enjoy the outdoors.

Happy to help facilitate.

Stay safe and healthy,

B.

And for people that don’t know how to use zoom, this video is pretty good- https://youtu.be/9guqRELB4dg
I use zoom for teaching everyday as I teach via distance Ed to different campuses other than my own.
It’s tricky to learn to start with but easy once you have practice

For those who sign up for a free account, key points:
1) You need an account to host a Zoom meeting, but your attendees only need the link and a plug-in (or app).
2) Free account meetings are limited to 40 minutes.
3) Normally, free accounts can host 40 people; mine was upgraded to 100 under the current circumstances.

There are upgrades available. I am becoming a fan of the educational version, which includes the ability to break out into "rooms" for small group discussions.

For clubs with G-Suite, Google Meet is probably a better option if you have people who need to call in. That feature is costly with Zoom.

Basic Hangouts: 10 people, no time limit, everyone must have a gmail.

Why has no one mentioned Skype? It supports up to 50 at a videoconference, has no time limit and is free!
