Flew into New Orleans, then picked up a car there to do the loop New Orleans-Miami-Asheville-Georgia-New Orleans. Fair bit of distance involved but having flown into Asheville once before I know from experience that it's more trouble than it's worth (plus last time it added about $1000 to the ticket price).

Well, depends on how much you like driving vs. flying. Unless you're restricted to buy certain expensive fares, I have no idea how it could cost $1000 to fly Miami-Asheville-New Orleans (more like $400). Maybe you're remembering a time when the US dollar was worth something... ;)

By the way, I take it I'll just look for you at the event on Saturday. My timeliness depends on Delta and on Hertz at Atlanta, plus traffic on I-20. Do you have a functional US cell phone number just in case?
