Guess that's all that matters, then!

At least that explains where all their newsroom staff are spending the holidays. The ones not at Hanging Rock anyway.

Oddly enough, in the past I've found the Australian and shockjock radio to be half-reasonable during the summer holidays when all the usual blowhards (and the editors who employ them) are away. Not so much the case this year.

My parents went to Southern Ocean Lodge for their 50th anniversary last year, so won't be pleased to hear that. It's unclear to me how far east the fire got after the wind change, but obviously the western part of the island has been hammered.

I hear in an emergency employers will cancel leave and request their employees return to work - in this case the risk of the general public actually demanding actual job performance from their political leaders warranted some very strongly-worded opinion pieces about greenies, arsonists and showing respect to PM GrabbyHands.
