that really sucks that you're working hard and not seeing your effort pay off :/ sounds like a heck of a course though, so running the same time as you did on a flat course is a good sign.

Dude, this course sounds badass. Way to go!
As for feeing like your efforts aren't paying off- they will! Training takes a lot of time, and for racing, throw in pacing, tactics, grit, etc. Trust that you are improving as a runner and be patient for when your time reflects that :)
