My result time as posted was 2 minutes too long. Comparing the splits printout to my GPS watch times, start to first control is exactly 2 minutes too long on the printed splits.
I believe the reason for that is that until about start time 13:37, starts were delayed for some reason by 2 minutes. My scheduled start time was 13:37, but I actually started 13:39. I am not sure what time exactly the delayed starts commenced, could have been right at 13:30 or a few minutes later. When I was on the start line (at 13:39) the organizer there just showed me that he had reset the clock back to 13:37. Hence I started at 13:39, but the official time and splits is calculated off a start of 13:37.

I suspect this will have affected most or all people who had scheduled start times of 13:37 or thereabouts or earlier.

Pretty sure everybody started two minutes late and the organizers are aware and planning to fix the start times.

Some of us were instructed to punch the start (I think it was supposed to be only for the open courses). Don't know if that made our results any different.

They were still starting us 2 mins after our assigned times when I went out at as one of the last starters. I suspect they’ll have to go back through and identify punch start vs assigned start +2.

They should have noted when they reset the start clock and thus be able to adjust the start/1st split times for everyone who didn't manually start after that point.

People were starting two minutes late both before and after the display clocks at the start were adjusted. Changing those just made it less confusing for people getting ready to start.

Tom, for anyone who punched the start punch, the results software automatically used their punched time rather than their assigned time. And yes, everyone who was started by clock time received a time that was two minutes slow, before and after the clock was adjusted.

Folks,

2 minute start time corrections have been made. For those who punched the start punch, no correction was needed.

Preliminary split results have been posted on Winsplits and Results by Class will be posted at Saturday’s Long event.

Please let me and/or Jay know if you see issues.

Apologies for the craziness at the start. We are making improvements.
