Publicity has been a little slow to appear, but the North American Rogaining Championships are being held on September 14-15 in the High Sierras of California. If you can get there, you should seriously consider it—the area is highly scenic, there is an excellent map (used a couple of years ago, also for a NARC). Since this is a regional championship, a top-two finish in your age/gender category will give automatic pre-qualification status for the 2020 World Rogaining Championships, also being held in the Sierras, but a little further north near Lake Tahoe. But it is definitely worth attending even if you are not at the highly competitive end of the spectrum—the venue really is spectacular. More details about the event can be found at http://www.navxchallenge.com/schedule-1/2019/9/7/d... . Early entry fees continue until August 30, so act soon! I'm not one of the event organizers, but was noticing when registering a couple of days ago that so far the attendance looks pretty light. At such a nice area, a lot more people ought to be trying to get there!
