I searched all over the SMOC website for a page that outlines all the costs, registration process, etc to no avail. I'm going to be e-mailing this info to orienteering merit badge counselors and friends interested in coming to the event on the 11th. Hoping to send this info out today. But I was surprised I couldn't find this info anywhere. Here's the main things I need:

- Registration cost for non-members
- Compass rental fee
- SI stick fee
- Directions to May 11th event (right now the event page only shows coordinates but no road directions, parking info, etc)
- Registration deadline / timing?? (I know there is the online registration, but does that mean you MUST pre-register, or can you still do same day registration? And if so what are the cost differences?)

In looking for this info I realized I am pretty much familiar with how I register myself and my family for events, but I couldn't find anything that explains this in an all-in-one page anywhere and don't even know a lot of the details myself. If someone can help I greatly appreciate it!!

The registration info usually appears during the week before the meet -- e.g. see https://smoc-runs.com/events/view/3799

Please contact Clint smocmeethost@gmail.com -- he's handling all the registration details.

I think, possibly, the current system cannot handle two events at the same time without confusion hence there is this one-at-a-time approach.

Cool, I like the video that helps.

I think we should have links to registration and payment on each event page... if someone was new they would have a hard time finding it buried in the SMOC website under "Resources."

I will reach out to Clint, thanks!

I sent some notes to Clint on this. Here's an example of what RMOC does... has everything all in one page: http://www.rmoc.org/index.php?option=com_content&v...

Yeah, but they have Brooke, which is kind of unfair!

Current system can handle multiple simultaneous registrations, just has to be set up. I should get some training to back up Clint as it makes sense and everyone's free time varies.

Our seasons have been coming together a bit later than desired[1]; goal for Fall 2019 is to try to get 75% of the season in place by June 30th so we can promote the heck out of it all summer long instead of only advertising week by week.

[1] EG, I am partially at fault this season; didn't get my stuff locked down early enough.

You got me curious, so I checked. She's logging something like 180-200 hours per year of administration for the last three years.

Haha! That is phenomenal! Borderline insane! But most of all it is something to be grateful for. But not surprising given the amazing work she does. If we could just figure out how to clone copy...

I started relying on her e-mails to the club in the "member news" section to stay updated on news about ME that I didn't even know was happening... that is how good she is!!

Which reminds me to say I love the e-mail newsletters SMOC has started. And I think a member news sections would be pretty cool... stuff like what Barbara did.. pretty motivational.

I realized our emails existed but weren't great, so I tried to spruce them up a little. All feedback is welcome, positive or negative! Member news sounds like a great addition!

I realized I waste a lot of time at lunch at work browsing things I don't care enough about, so I'm thinking about bringing my laptop in and trying to Brooke-it-up a bit at lunch time. Maybe I'll even proofread something before I post it!
