So what was the very first error that caused you to lose contact with the map and what pressures or decision lead to you making that first error?

My A3 map was folded between the 1 and 4 number , so I went straight to #14 from control 3, had to negotiate shitty puddles in the clearing north side, by the time I have done this effort, I realized I did a mistake and had to return, that put me down off for 15-16 min time loss, so i knew the race is over after that. Shit happens, maybe A3 map board would have been helpful too.

Control 1 was just not in the zone yet, but 4 min time loss is something I could have recovered from son not a bigge.

But #4 would still have been on your side of the map and not folded off, with a line leading to it from #3! Mind you I missed controls in four races last year (only one of which I realised and corrected upon reaching the next one) so can't comment really.

Very much True (makes it even look more stupid mistake), also happened to Hamish the day before! Anyway, let’s see if we learn from this...?

Over 40, we're too old to learn anything I've found. Keep on doing the same dumb things.
