Some part of the noisy log algorithm involves having more than two people discussing things I think.

@dbakker - that would make sense. I confirmed with ken that a single user commenting isn't sufficient to cause a noisy log. Does anyone have any idea what the algorithm might be? I could see multiplying the total number of comments by the square of the number of unique commenters, say, and ranking all users by that value. You might want to also include some time penalty - comment threads from a few days ago could contribute less to a log's noise score than more recent comments.

Say, for tau ~ 3 days:
Value of a comment thread = (unique users - 2) * sqrt(# comments) * e^(-t / tau)
Value of a log = sum over all comment threads.
