I am out of shape (well I think so) and damaged my knee last year.
I am trying to do a ROGAIN in central California is august and the worlds in 2020.

Any suggestions on where and how to find a teammate? I am not an ultra runner ect. Looking to try for 8+ hrs, <8 ultralight sleep and then +8 hr finish. Not expecting to win, just have fun and complete the race. Where do you look for teammates with this type of expectations?

If you are on facebook, you may try the "Aventure Race Teammate Finder" page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ARTeammateFinder/

I just read a bunch of the posts there. Should I post this?

" I know that you guys usually go all out for 300 miles and get maybe 4 to 6 hrs rest in 72 hrs. But would you like to do a pair of slow ~8 hr hikes and take a nice 5 to 7 hr nap in between with me?"

If I don't get any other ideas or I don't find someone. I will definitely give it a try.

RD's for most of the 24 hour rogaines (in the US at least) will usually offer to match up teammates. Obviously not for something like the worlds, but for regular events.

Hoping to find someone for a trial run;

And then hopefully the worlds the next year with the same person.

Planning on doing this solo or with a prospective teammate and as a sanity check in June;

You should also post here on Attackpoint as well maybe on Attackpoint Adventure Racing.

Something along the lines of: Rogain looking for a teammate...

Sage460 I have been looking for someone to join me as well. I'm in the USA, South East. I've already signed up for the Florida Navi-Gator, April 14th. I have an ultra running background, but am SLOW. If you are interested in potentially joining me, let me know and we'll take it off the board to chat.

Actually we have been talking and sharing pictures ect.

Do we need to qualify to do the 2020 worlds?

Based on attendance at the last world champs held in North America, probably not.

To help hook you up with someone, folks would need to know things like your age-gender category preference, your “seriousness”, your nav skill level, prior experience, running speed, perhaps general philosophy, and so on.

And in case you missed it, Sage460, in the other thread you'd started, gavinwm (the Event Director for WRC2020) discussed the qualifying criteria.
