Perhaps I'm going to make a fool of myself for asking a couple of questions but are the police really able to discern by eye who is light and are there really such things as anchors? I wouldn't put anything past your Wyoming cowboys so I figured I'd ask.
The State Troopers are very skilled at what they do and are almost always able to choose the correct sense with which to perform the task at hand. Do you think they would be better able to detect the lighter trucks by tasting them, as they whizzed by?
The eyes actually work really well for this. The lighter trucks shake much more vigorously than heavier trucks in the wind. Sometimes they even blow over as the Troopers are watching. That makes them extra easy to detect as being too light for the travel conditions.
But it is always good to ask, for the very reason you surfaced.
I tried googling truck wind anchors, but haven't found anything yet.
JJ, I assume you searched FB, that being the go-to source for all facts and useful, reliable information, besides being that place where the more time you spend there, the happier and more blissful you feel about everything! They all say it's nirvana in a nutshell. So happiness! So much bliss!!
And even though I haven't seen you in a while, I did see someone this past summer who had seen you, and they said something about how when they had seen you last, you were looking like you could use some more nirvana*.
* I assumed they were referring to the music group. Who couldn't use a little more Nirvana from time to time?
Facebook is too new, I'm not sure it has enough stability or endurance for me. I stick with social media platforms that have been around longer.
What I now picture is JJ anxiously monitoring clubnet for social connection. He's probably one of those folks who foregoes digest mode so that each missive arrives in his inbox milliseconds after the send button was hit. Long live clubnet!
I found these
truck anchors. Apparently, the driver suspends themselves from above and hangs on tight to the truck. Seems like a "Land Danforth" would work better but where wind is concerned I'm not going to question the wisdom of WY cowboys and cowgals.
I don't think clubnet is old enough, either. (Not sure on that.)
I think the reconstituted version of the original O-net may still exist. If so, there's a real internet ghost town.
I just went looking for O-Net and don't think it exists, even on YahooGroups, anymore.
social media platforms that have been around longer
BBS?
A little more obvious than that.
