Right before I left home to head west, I hung a set of hooks in my bathroom, right outside my shower. After I hung them -- which was more of an ordeal than it needed to be, involving buying a drill and using a laser level -- I realized they weren't centered on the wall section, which is about a foot and a half wide. I've been thinking about it my whole trip, trying to convince myself that it's just fine. I hope it is and I won't have to make even more holes in my wall! But I have my doubts.

I think you should take out one of the walls and put it up again in the right place so the hooks are centered.

Excellent plan, Cristina! ;-)

But -- once towels & robes are hanging on the hooks, maybe their off-centered-ness won't be as obvious?

And, removing the hooks, spackling, and reinstalling wouldn't be as terrible as spending MONTHS to decide on an interior paint color, having your entire place painted, HATING the results no matter how hard your tried to force yourself to like it...and then deciding to repaint the whole place a few weeks later. Not that I have ever done that... :-P
