This is the last day to buy cheap tickets on WestJet to Holger's OSkool in Hamilton Ontario this January.

If anyone would like to share a car or lodging, let me know. I'm flying into Hamilton (to save the extortionate airport fees for renting a car at Pearson).

I've been thinking about coming to this event, but then I started thinking... I've heard rumours that they sometimes get a little bit of snow in Hamilton... Do I need to bring my snowshoes?

Hamilton early in January can have no snow or lots o snow but likely the former. The only time in the last 5-7 years we have had a big snow storm in late Dec/early January was when I was in Banff/Canmore at christmas in 2003 (they had no snow). But of course John the, last time you came up here we had snow so bring the snowshoes just in case. We have had a winter running orienteering series (notice I didn't say foot-O) the last 12 winters and I'd say only 3 or 4 out of 100 races were tough due to snow depth.

I think I'll take the j-man's advice anyway.
