Thank God it wasn't you.

A cyclist was hit by a car last month just 300m from my house and I live on a rural back road. Cannot find a word about what happened to her other than she was helicoptered into Hartford. Police wouldn't let me close minutes after the accident but I saw the mangled bike in the middle of the road. Ugly.

Safer in our woods despite the bears. Hope to see you on Ratlum Mountain next month.

Bill, unfortunately your rural road has turned into a major route from the SW suburbs to Simsbury and to the airport. It is a nasty, narrow, windy, hilly route and very dangerous even to those fortified with a car. A sad development as population grows faster than infrastructure.

Yes, and a major alternative to US 44 for commuters to Hartford. We locals call it “Mini 44”. I won’t Bike it or walk it. But it is still essentially a tarred cow path.
