Thanks for coming - it was great how many Western Australians made it across the Nullarbor! Hopefully we can return the favour next Easter :)

The Nullarbor's the easy bit, it's the endless nothing on the WA side of the border that's the problem. :)

As an American who took a lengthy work assignment with Australian GE in Adelaide, I can vouch for SA as a wonderful venue for O...or just about any other sport.

South Australia is an undiscovered jewel. It reminds me of early Southern California: no smog, freeways, or crowds. Sunny weather, beautiful beaches, exotic plants and animals, very decent wine country. And speaking with your American accent will bring smiles and amazement to just about everyone you meet.

I will be watching Eventor for next opportunity to orienteer around Renmark. Really enjoyed those maps.

Plan SA long there next year in September. Need to check with Vic events so we do not clash. We are currently planning for 7-8 Sep.

Victoria's calendar planning meeting is on Sunday, so they should (hopefully) be able to steer clear of those dates if they're the ones you want.

Neil - might be that you're referring to the area covered by the 1:7500 which was quite a bit smaller than what was on the 1:10000 map?

I ran on 1:10k both days. I suspect this was an oversight on the relay day when our age group was added to the W21Es. It caused some problems for a few notable M60 competitors. My only disappointment was seeing a small part of the terrain. I suspect an M60 long might get across to the right hand side of the map. If not I will have to run up an age group.

The older generation used to complain about having to run on 1:15,000 maps when 1:10,000 was available. Now it's changed to having to run on 1:10,000 maps when 1:7500 is available. Next everything will be printed on 1:5000.
