And the results from the hip jury are...?
Extra bone on the femur was removed, and it had pretty much obliterated the labrum and cartilage on the edge of the hip socket. Nothing left to repair with the labrum, so he just cleaned it up back to a solid edge. The cartilage is pretty much gone in that area too, so it is bone on bone and will likely ache even though it has been cleaned up. Not a problem for normal walking, but any real rotation and it will rub (like going up hills, and thinking about it, possibly sitting in a boat..... ). Need to quiz him more on that in 6 weeks, when I have my second follow up.
Crutches for another week and a half, then take it easy. No heavy lifting for a while. Start physio on Wednesday
He's going to take a look at the other one once this one has healed and the other one has calmed down. It is pretty annoyed at the extra load it is taking at the moment :-)
