Eventor suggests you did an 8.5km course versus her 7.3km.
7.3km was the straight line distance given by the setters. I'm sure she would actually done a bit more than that, even if not as much as me. I'm sure of much more significance is how much faster she runs than me.
Based on the splits of Tooms and myself, I don't think there was much difference on the long leg between the track (me) and straight (him).
Happy to hear that Blair. I thought there was potential for straight to have gotten greener than shown on the map and the track therefore the safer option. Figured even if straight was a bit better it wouldn't have been by much and there are other advantages such as easily being able to look ahead and plan the rest of the course while still maintaining reasonable speed.

Rachel - that was my thinking too. In general I regarded rocky slopes as being light green in my decision-making process, whether they were mapped as such or not.
