Discussion: Ambit3 Peak HR cheap

Not sure what prompted this but somebody just listed a handful of new in box Ambit3 Peak HR gps watches on ebay for $28 + free shipping. Who knows, maybe it's a scam but I ordered one. The listing says 3 available so I tried to get all 3 but it then said the seller limits you to only 1 item in 10 days. (?) After I then ordered 1 the listing still says 3 available so who knows how many he really has.

at the moment can state that the seller still hasn't accepted my payment, it's unusual. something wrong

This is an interesting one. If it really comes in the maim, let us know. I've had this watch for 3 years now and it is really worth even that $384.30 they sell it on Suunto.

Yeah, it does seem like one of those too-good-to-be-true-so-it-must-be-bogus deals. But it does include ebay money back guarantee. Other than the price the thing that seems fishy to me is that with 7 sold, they STILL show 3 more available.

I like my Ambit3 Sport and the Peak appears to be a minor upgrade to that. At this price I figured I'd just grab a handful and either give/sell them to juniors or donate them to the next fundraiser auction or something. But with the limit 1 per 10 days feature that could be difficult/impossible.

The shipping status on my order says estimated delivery between Sept 14-27 so it might take a while to find out if this is legit.

Darn, that was a great deal! ;) I’ve found that Suunto gives very reasonable prices on earlier models, new in the box. Mine arrived from Finland in a week. One thing I like is that I’m certain of what I’m getting and they are likely to take some responsibility if something goes wrong. You can’t change the battery in these watches so you really want to be sure it’s new and not manufactured toooo long ago.

The Peak is a significant step up from the Sport in my eyes because of its barometric altimeter (more accurate elevation info) and longer battery life but that won’t matter as much to everyone.

This was one of the most exciting (suspenseful) AP threads in a while!!!

The nice thing when getting things directly from Suunto is getting little screws when lost
