:) Reminds me of that phone booth gag in
Airplane!
Yet another movie I haven't seen! I can see why though!
Airplane has a LOT of great moments. See it!
Lots of funny slapstick, double entendres, word play, etc.
Sample dialog clip (stolen from IMDB) (there are others even better but it's good to have seen the movie first):
Roger Murdock: Flight 2-0-9'er, you are cleared for take-off.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: L.A. departure frequency, 123 point 9'er.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Victor Basta: Request vector, over.
Captain Oveur: What?
Tower voice: Flight 2-0-9'er cleared for vector 324.
Roger Murdock: We have clearance, Clarence.
Captain Oveur: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?
Tower voice: Tower's radio clearance, over!
Captain Oveur: That's Clarence Oveur. Over.
Tower voice: Over.
Captain Oveur: Roger.
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: Roger, over!
Roger Murdock: What?
Captain Oveur: Huh?
Victor Basta: Who?
In the days before mobile phones, I believe there was money to be made if you were a fast 100m runner in Sydney by being the fastest to get from the local office of the Australian Bureau of Statistics to the nearest public phone (on behalf of your financial-market employers) whenever some key economic data were being released.
