In my experience even the better days are slow!

That hasn't been my experience, but then most of my recent visits to Oslo have involved arriving at close to midnight.

I love Oslo's train station!

My theory has always been that the slow (for me) delivery of luggage is a ploy to get people to spend more time (and money) in the Duty Free shop.

At least the Oslo duty free shop is easily avoidable. If there is a Hell, a special place in it should be reserved for those people who thought of making everyone weave an indirect path through the duty free shop just to get through the airport (a club which I see has now been joined by Helsinki). Melbourne departures is particularly egregious.

Bugger, we'll be in Stockholm airport in a few weeks' time. Mind you we just lost the security deposit on our hire car (sad to say it had done 25km when we collected it and we somehow gave it its first scratch on the rear panel) so we cannot afford to buy anything.

Actually it seems they charged $250 for the 'scratch', which for the second time this trip is marginally less than the excess on the relevant insurance.

Phew - I thought you had meant it was the whole 2000 Euro!

The email did say the security deposit had been cancelled but then Tash received most of the refund into her account.
