It was 295 pages and 86,751 words. I'm sure I would have made some errors in there somewhere....But thankfully my examiners didn't pick any up ;) ;)

That's impressive indeed to get an outright acceptance without revisions - not sure how rare that is in your field but it's basically unheard of in ours.

Yes I certainly wasn't expecting it! I must have got a bit lucky with some kind examiners!

wow, great work!... or maybe you could have just handed it in a month earlier and let the examiners fix the rest ;-)

You undersell your efforts. Most examiners I know go through in great detail and find even the smallest things.

Thanks, yes I am (still) totally stoked!! I was extra excited to start using Dr as my title, but have to wait until graduation in December :(

Blair - how are the tallies of aus jwoc team members who go on to gain phds vs make woc finals vs both going?

Haven't updated them recently, and of course the concept of "making" a WOC final has changed a bit in the long and middle in recent years.

I was told when I got mine that once you had "Dr" in front of your name you got a better class of junk mail, but I'm still waiting.

Haha yeah I'm sure it'll be underwhelming when I start using Dr as my title!! I'm definitely going to milk it for a few months though

In Hungary, they put it in front of your name in start lists (at least at local events).

Then that is the first place I shall go!!
