You could always skip Christmas entirely and go to the Asian Championships in Hong Kong.

I'm always tempted by the South African Christmas carnival (the Big Five). Nothing like the idea of orienteering in a national park over there! Many of their maps I have been to for sight seeing (before I knew O existed).
